Collection: Miltonia

Miltonia orchids, also known as pansy orchids, are a group of epiphytic plants native to South America, particularly Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Peru. They are divided into two genera: Miltonia and Miltoniopsis.

Miltonia orchids are warm-growing and prefer partial shade with some bright light, while Miltoniopsis orchids, which grow at higher elevations, are cooler-growing and require more consistent moisture and cooler temperatures. Both types need well-draining soil, high humidity, and appropriate watering to thrive. They bloom in various colors and have complex patterns, with Miltoniopsis blooms resembling pansies due to their large, rounded, flat flowers. Proper care includes maintaining temperatures between 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit at night and 70 to 80 degrees during the day, with humidity levels between 60 to 70 percent.
